Cease Smoking Today (CS2day)
is a multi-organizational education initiative designed to provide physicians and other healthcare professionals with effective and clinically relevant strategies targeted to increase the smoking quit rates for patients followed in multiple practice settings.

Nine partners, working in cooperation with myriad organizations, have collaborated on this multiyear initiative to develop an unprecedented and comprehensive approach to intervene and decrease the smoking rates in the United States.

Participants that are already in-progress may login in the boxes on the left. If you are not currently enrolled, please click the Register button. You will be redirected to Medconcert®, where the CS2Day Performance Improvement Activity is now located.
As a participant in the CS2day activity, you will join hundreds of your colleagues and peers in what has become a landmark event in CME history. With years of success now behind us, improvements made along the way, and data to back it up, the CS2day partners are certain that you will not only enjoy this experience, but that your confidence and knowledge will increase, and your practice of treating and managing tobacco using patients will improve. Together, these changes in knowledge, confidence, and performance will help increase the tobacco quit rates of your patients. CS2day - IT WORKS.

CS2days’ online Performance Improvement CME activity is technology driven, self-directed and user friendly. It is designed to guide you through a smoking cessation practice improvement process, step-by-step. Beginning with a self-assessment questionnaire and chart audit, you will learn about your own gaps in knowledge, attitudes, skills, and performance and then be automatically directed to high-quality and evidence-based resources and tools that you can download and access from within the activity. Based on the results of the self-assessment and the interventions that will be recommended by the system, you will identify a plan for change and improvement. Access to the resources, tools, and other learning opportunities will help to facilitate the implementation of your changes into practice. Specialized software developed by CE City (www.cecity.com) allows for secure and confidential tracking of evidenced-based measures so you can analyze actual performance and review your patient data in a way that will help you to make effective decisions within your practice.

What is Performance Improvement CME?
Performance Improvement CME blends both quality improvement and educational methodologies to provide a high quality learning experience that impacts changes in practice. This is not your traditional lecture-based CME. The American Medical Association defines Performance Improvement CME activities as structured, long-term processes in which physicians learn about performance measures related to an aspect of their clinical practice, use measures to retrospectively assess their practice, track those measures prospectively, and re-evaluate their performance. As part of this process, clinicians set goals for change and engage in structured learning activities to improve their performance. A complete, structured performance activity includes three stages:
Learning from current practice performance assessment
Learning from application of performance improvement to patient care
Learning from the evaluation of the performance improvement effort
